How we do it.
1.We Take Kids to Summer Camp
For over 80 years Hume Christian camps have hosted life changing camps for jr high and high school students. We take young people up the mountain who otherwise wouldn’t have the resources to make it happen. It’s 7 days of transformational Christ-centered experiences, all designed to point students to the heart of the Father.

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.”
-Ephesians 3:16-21
VISION.
We, the church, are the body of Christ. We are his hands and feet. Jesus longs to work IN and THROUGH us. We have been given the ministry of Reconciliation. As His children, we have been given the privilege of partnering with our Father in the work that he’s doing in the hearts and minds of our brothers and sisters still yet unreconciled to Himself.
It is our vision…that this ministry would be a conduit of the above-mentioned passage from Ephesians. We will partner with God, providing the environment (both physically, emotionally, and spiritually) whereby young people can become empowered with inner strength through the Holy Spirit. We long to be partners in Christ’s work of making His home in their hearts as they trust Him more and more; helping their roots to grow deep into God’s love, keeping them strong, helping them understand the expanse of His love for them. This is our mission, our vision, and our deepest desire apart from intimacy with God, Himself.
The mission, in one word, is “Invitation”. We have not been asked by the Lord to force anyone to believe what we believe…we have been asked to be prepared to provide a reason for the hope within us. We have not been asked to force people to be disciples…we have been asked to make disciples by baptizing and teaching them all the things He taught us. The invitation is hardly just an invitation to be taught, but is also, and even more so, an invitation to practice the ways of Jesus alongside us as leaders.
